this kid sat next to me in the business center after a smoke. he smelled. to smell the grossness of cigarettes... only a month or two ago, i'd rather lick him to get the nicotine off of his sweat.

tackach finally has my birss money! yaaaaaay.

...i sure am lucky... [21 Feb 2006|11:55pm]

so today's josh's birthday...
and on his birthday he brought me a get well basket of medicine, kleenex, and movies.. oh and my workout clothes that i left in my car over the weekend. then he took me out and got me dinner, cookies, and a v8 and juice..

i sure am lucky.

oh, i got him these weird primedia dvds that we wanted and a torque wrench and some other tool... i feel weird getting him gifts that i don't understand, but it's what he wants.

oh, saw domino tonight. i liked. definitely not a flick for all, i could see how it could get on the nerves of many.. but for me, i liked.

well time for me to get to bed, early i know.. i'm going to see how quickly i can get over this whatever it is i have...

life is good.

first off, i won 1st place in the birss competition! 300 dollar cash prize, thank god because i was in debt to the bank and owed several people as well.

the utah trip is becoming extremely exciting. it's me, josh, ryan, filiz (who is as excited about it as me) and possibly and hopefully marc.. amanda and hillary are also maybes..
so we planned the details... we're going may 21-28, going to both arches and zion, spending a day in between driving across the state. i've been looking at pictures at these areas constantly because it's going to be fucking wonderful :) i'll probably be unwise and spend my prize money on a video camera for the trip..

i talked to sarah, (for those in ma, that's my best friend in tx) and she's married and 5 months pregnant! apparently she broke her phone and couldn't revive her phonebook and then found me much later in facebook... i had no idea that she was trying to contact me, i tend to lose touch with people quite often so it's not unnatural for me to go months without talking to even a close friend like sarah.

josh and i's three year anniversary is on monday.. woo.

classes are going very well, and i've been going to the gym consistently lately, and took running back up.. i really want to be in shape for utah, but the sudden change in how i'm feeling has been great.

to sum it up, this past month has been wonderful.

so the blacklight party was fun... must take shower asap to get all these markings off of me..
after the blacklight party i went over to greg's so he could read me this poem he just wrote.. and from there we went over to keith's.. one of greg's friends.
and then walking back i ran into cato (about 10 minutes ago), who is apparantly stranded on campus tonight and wandering around. well, he let me know that he had to analyze the article i wrote for the civil discourse journal (my first publication, as small as it may be) on cultural relativism in the poisonwood bible for his expo. class. well that was neat news.. that my article was actually part of an assignment. i know, i'm a dork.. but that made me happy.

well i've been through just about the first full week of the semester... bouchard (core sci) is pretty clear, which is good because science is my worst subject. ciccone's lab is awful. i can't do labs for shit, despite how easy everyone thinks it is.. it is my biggest weakness. but i stayed after with ciccone and he worked on explaining it to me... this is the only core class i think i'll struggle with, ever. i have shelton twice this year, continental lit (looong ass class) and brit lit II.. it's about the same as usual.. thompson for francophone lit is awesome.. he speaks clearly and i can understand him, what a concept. it's my last french class, hooooorah.. stein (history of mod. france) is great.. being in class till 9pm sucks, and all the people in my class are actually history majors and put my knowledge of dates etc to shame, but it's fascinating and i think i'll probably shove history courses in and make it a double major..

elephant was on late last night... weird ass movie. it's slow but for good reason, i recommend it. it really puts you in the situation in a less-hollywood, more realistic manner.

so tomorrow blacklight party, sat. outdoor show w. josh then marc most likely is coming late that night :)

i want to go hiking in utah for like 3-4 days in spring or summer.. anyone interested? decently cheap trip..

fri "night" i met some people around my dorm and got a much needed ego boost.. but then around 3 am, me, hillary, val, amanda, megan, and her boyfriend decided to take a trip to a party in westfield where we stayed up till the afternoon when hill and i drove back. then sat night, i told josh i wanted to get back early, as i was going on no sleep.. but the evening took us to attleboro to ryan's to meet his newest girlfriend (chiana) and drink wine and smoke cigars. we left around midnight and got back around 1... josh slept over at my dorm for the first time of the semester... (over the break, we didn't sleep a single night apart, so it's so odd that he can rarely sleep at my dorm, because with the drive he'd have to get up at 5 rather than 6:30)
now i'm sitting here passing time till josh picks me up (he's borrowing my car while his truck is getting fixed) then going to his grandmother's birthday party.

christmas was fabulous and new years as well.

as most of you know, i spent christmas in nyc with my family instead of the traditional exchanging of gifts. so no gifts between family members, but we got to spend some much needed time together. saw the rockettes, the dirty rotten scoundrels on broadway, watched the skaters at rockefeller center, had some amazing brazilian food.. all in all a very nice time. though their smoking drove me insane, everything else went smoothly.

now, for my presents..
josh's mom and dad bought me a beautiful red pea-coat. it's exactly what i wanted, gorgeous.
josh's grandmother got me a red-wood statue of buddha and a scroll of these pandas.
josh's aunt and uncle got me earrings and a gift certificate for dunks
josh's brother jake got me a discman, going over the five dollar limit that we agreed on.. grrr. haha, ah well i really needed on that didn't skip.

and josh got my this gong that says "luck" in chinese characters.. it was my favorite thing at that asian exchange store.. he also got me another scroll, this one japanese... it was of a beautiful landscape

i got josh a poker set, two movies (minority report and black sheep) and a scrapbook, which i'm stiiill not done with, but as i am lounging around the house for the next week recovering from my wisdom teeth, i should have plenty of time to finish it.

for new years, i went to gaeton's place to keep company with harold, who is doing very well and is back at home. drank champagne and margaritas and watched football... it was a very good time.
there, my sister gave my a gift certificate to a day spa to congratulate me on quitting smoking (5 weeks now.. wooo). i think i'm going to do the therapeutic massage and get my eyebrows waxed. i'm so psyched.

i think i'm done waitressing for a long while. i'm out to get a job in bristol.. i'm thinking retail.. i've never had a retail job, but it must be nice not to be surrounded my food and grease all day long.

saw katie a couple days ago... she seems to be doing fabulously as well. i'm going to try to visit her for a week or two when she's in europe for several months to do part of her trip with her.

the lit mag is complete, so i have to make a trip to rwu to get the printing done and sign up for a booth to pass these suckers out. first day of classes, look out for them.
and valerie.. i'd like to come visit you while i'm up at school getting the printing done. then we can exchange christmas gifts... belated.

valerie: so sorry about sun. night... when i'm getting along with my family, i like to suck it aaaall in. so it lasted just about all night. now my sister is back in baltimore and i have no clue when i'll see her next... siiigh. bur i can't wait to give you your gift, so when i go up to school, i'll plan it around your schedule and see you.. maybe we can go grab some lunch (elsewhere than the student union) while i'm there.. ehh?

i have high hopes for 2006.
